i am in charge of the AAFPRS question and answer section and i see that you have asked for assistance from our humanitarian programs. are you a victim of domestic abuse? please let me know your circumstances and where you live exactly and i can see how i can get you in contact with someone from the program. i have sent you an email as well.
Question: What is the AAFPRS?
Answer: The American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (AAFPRS) represents more than 2,700 facial plastic and reconstructive surgeons internationally, and is the world’s largest specialty association. The AAFPRS is a National Medical Specialty Society of the American Medical Association (AMA). The AAFPRS holds an official seat in the American Medical Association House of Delegates and also in the American College of Surgeons board of governors. Members of the AAFPRS are board certified surgeons with a focus in surgery of the face, head, and neck. You can see more info about the AAFPRS here.
Question: Can you tell me about the Code of Ethics of the AAFPRS?
Answer: Founded to provide opportunities for the continuing education of surgeons, the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (AAFPRS) has had a deep and effective concern for the improvement of patient care and for the ethical practice of medicine. This Code of Ethics is comprised of ethical standards and codes chosen by the AAFPRS Board of Directors from established and authoritative sources and adapted as applicable. References in this Code to “members” includes all classes and categories of membership. See more details about this at our Code of Ethics document.
