Dr. Edwin F. Williams is a board certified facial plastic surgeon located in Albany, New York. He is certified by the American Board of Facial Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery and by the American Board of Otolaryngology. Dr. Williams is also a Diplomat of the National Board of Medical Examiners and he is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and the American Academy of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery. The doctor has also qualified for the American Medical Association Physician Recognition Award.

Dr. Williams performs blepharoplasty, or eyelid surgery as it is more commonly known, to correct drooping and wrinkling of the upper eyelids and puffiness and bags of the lower eyelids. During the surgery, excess fat, skin and muscle are removed. Fat transfer may also be used to produce a volumizing effect.

With nearly half of his practice devoted to revision and reconstructive nasal surgery, Dr. Williams has extensive experience in rhinoplasty. This surgery is often performed to improve the appearance of the nose, but some breathing problems may be treated as well. Primary rhinoplasty refers to rhinoplasty procedures performed for the first time while revision rhinoplasty refers to procedures performed to address problems occurring after a prior rhinoplasty procedure. Dr. Williams takes special care to create better harmony between the nose and other facial features when altering the nasal appearance.

Botox is an injectable designed to improve the appearance of certain facial wrinkles caused by the motion of repeated facial expressions such as laughing, frowning and concentrating. Rhytidectomy, more commonly known as a facelift, is a procedure that Dr. Williams performs to restore a healthy and more youthful appearance to the lower face and neck. This surgery treats the visible signs of aging including sagging skin, jowls and loose neck skin. During surgery, excess fat is removed, underlying muscles are tightened and the skin is redraped.

Facial implants may be used for chin augmentation surgery or cheek augmentation surgery to enhance the facial features. Chin augmentation can add prominence to the chin and help to achieve better harmony among the facial features. Cheek augmentation can create the appearance of high cheekbones and also achieve facial harmony.
