Basic Principles of Rhinoplasty

This new book, authoredby J. Gregory Staffel, M.D., and funded by W.L. Gore and Associates, Inc. was published by the AAFPRS Foundation to fill thegap between the chapter on rhinoplasty and the tome on rhinoplasty. The book presents technical principles of rhinoplasty, including treatment algorithms, aesthetic considerations, and techniques for enhancing the appearance of the nose while maintaining the integrity of the airways. A must for all residents, this manual will answer two questions: What needs to be done to the nose to make it work well and look right? What technique is easiest to use for the desired result?

Essentials of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery for Residents

This manual, compiled by Ann Stark, M.D., and Arlen D. Meyers, M.D., defines the skills, knowledge, and attitudes for residents doing not only basic techniques, but also new procedures including applications in cosmetic surgery, advances in craniomaxillofacial and trauma surgery, and outcomes of research. New chapters were added to update information on the basics of facial plastic surgery including rhinoplasty, lasers in aesthetic surgery, and trauma. The manual is designed to provide program directors, faculty, and curriculum planners, as well as medical students and residents with the minimum abilities that students of facial plastic and reconstructive surgery should be expected to demonstrate at the conclusion of their training.
