Code-a-Graphics

Miscommunication and denied claims have frustrated many surgeons, patients, and insurance companies. Code-a-Graphics, developed by Laurel Ferris Consultants, Inc. for the AAFPRS, helps eliminate the communication gap between surgeons and insurance reviewers.

The Code-a-Graphics kit is specifically aimed at remedying carrier denials of functional facial plastic surgery. The most frequently reviewed facial plastic codes are explained in plain English on a double-sided sheet.

On the front side, the functional and cosmetic indications are listed along with the ICD-9 codes. On the back side of each page, a series of captioned anatomical drawings and photos put words into pictures. Ten copies of each code sheet are provided in a three-ring binder along with instructions on effective appeals prior to authorization and resubmission techniques.

Academy members are listed both alphabetically and geographically, with the alphabetical listing containing such vital information as mailing addresses, telephone and fax numbers, and even e-mail addresses. In addition, the directory includes the leadership roster and committee charges, bylaws, and a wealth of information at your fingertips about the Academy and its programs and services. All AAFPRS members' listings are updated annually in October, and members receive a complimentary copy in January. Additional copies may be purchased.
