Dr. Peter Hilger
Dr. Peter Hilger is both professor and director of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery in the Department of Otolaryngology, at the University of Minnesota.
His plastic surgery practice in Minneapolis, Minnesota covers a wide array of facial plastic surgery as well as post-traumatic reconstruction, and he is considered a leader in the facial plastic surgery industry. As a result, he has garnered an impressive number of awards and honors including The Castle-Connolly Award for one of America’s Top Doctor’s and a Top Doctor of the Minneapolis/St. Paul Magazine.
Dr. Hilger is also very active in pro-bono and charity work. He has been involved with the AAFPRS’ Face to Face program which travels to third world countries to perform surgery (at no cost) to impoverished patients. This program has lead him to countries such as Croatia and Peru.
Dr. Hilger is a leading plastic surgeon in Minneapolis with over three decades of experience. After completing his Microbiology degree at the University of Minnesota in 1974, he went on to earn his medical degree in 1979, also from the same university. While at UM, he completed residencies in general surgery and otolaryngology. After, he did a fellowship in facial plastic and reconstructive surgery with Dr. Richard C. Webster at Harvard University in Boston, MA.
Dr. Hilger specializes in procedures such as facelift as well as the ever-popular rhinoplasty. He also has vast experience with chin augmentation as well as ear surgery and has published many articles on these procedures and others.
