With facelift surgery, or rhytidectomy as it is technically known, Dr. Portuese can improve the most visible signs of facial aging. Facial creases, jowls and neck bands can all be treated. The surgery restores a more youthful appearance by tightening the face and neck muscle structure, removing excess fat and tightening the skin.

Another option in facial rejuvenation is blepharoplasty, or eyelid surgery. Dr. Portuese performs this procedure to improve the appearance of the upper and/or lower eyelids, particularly puffy bags and sagging skin. When treating the upper eyelids, excess fat and skin are removed. For the lower eyelids, typically excess fat alone is removed. The result is a younger, refreshed appearance to the eyes.

The brow lift, or forehead lift, can be performed by Dr. Portuese in one of two ways, either with a traditional approach or with the less invasive endoscopic technique. One of the main differences between the two is the less extensive incision made for the endoscopic approach. Both techniques improve forehead creases and elevate the eyebrows to provide a rejuvenated appearance to the brow area.

Dr. Portuese uses facial implants to better balance the facial features. Implants can be made from a variety of materials and may be used for cheek augmentation and chin augmentation. Cheek augmentation can create more desirable high cheekbones while chin augmentation can build up a small or receding chin.

Rhinoplasty, or nose surgery, is performed to improve the aesthetic appearance of the nose as well as some breathing problems. A variety of changes can be made to the nose. For instance, the overall size of the nose may be increased or decreased or the tip, bridge or nostrils may be reshaped.

Otoplasty, or ear surgery, is generally performed to improve the appearance of prominent ears. This surgery can reposition the ears closer to the head. While often performed on children, ear surgery can also be performed on adults.

Botox is an injectable procedure used to improve the appearance of horizontal lines over the forehead, frown lines, and crow’s feet. By injecting Botox into specific facial muscles, the muscles relax and allow these lines and creases to soften. Treatment is quick and easy with results lasting an average of three to six months.
